Malaria masih merupakan permasalahan kesehatan masyarakat yang signifikan di Indonesia, terutama di kawasan timur Indonesia seperti Tanah Papua dan Nusa Tenggara Timur. Penemuan kasus dini dan pengobatan segera merupakan kunci dalam pencapaian elliminasi malaria. Saat ini Indonesia menggunakan Artemisinin Combination Therapy (ACTs) untuk pengobatan malaria. Obat ini bisa diresepkan oleh dokter di puskesmas atau RSUD jika terdapat konfirmasi laboratorium malaria positif. Dr Astri Ferdiana MPH Ph.D berkesempatan untuk menghadiri International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria (ICTMM) di Kuching Malaysia tanggal 18-23 September 2024. Dr Astri mempresentasikan penelitian mengenai malaria yang dilakukan di Papua dan NTT. Dalam penelitian ini, dr Astri melakukan analisis terhadap peresepan ACTs di puskesmas dan RSUD. Through the implementation of collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of Mataram University and the Southeast Asian Ministry of Education Regional Centre for Food and Nutrition (SEAMEO RECFON), they synergized to increase the awareness about stunting. On Saturday, September 14, 2024 also has taken place a Team Building Activity for Family Assistance Teams from 4 sub-districts (Lenek, Sikur, Sakra, Aikmel). It took place at the Lemor Botanical Garden, East Lombok. The event was attended by Dr. Ir. Umi Fahmida, M.Sc and the AASH team, dr. Deasy Irawati, M.Sc., Ph.D and the FKIK Unram team, BKB Cadres, Midwives and PKK from the four sub-districts above. In this activity, the event began with warm-up exercises, followed by games that reflected precision, the ability to understand instructions, analyze information and cooperation between team members. After that, the event continued with an MBTI session where the participants were asked to fill out an MBTI questionnaire. From the results of the filling, the participants will recognize their personality type. In the session, the participants were informed about the strengths and things that can be optimized from these personality types and how these various personality types can collaborate. The shared values session was also introduced in this event. Participants were asked to choose several images that depicted the values of the foundation, pillars, processes and results to reduce stunting rates in West Nusa Tenggara and Indonesia. The AIPKI Region V meeting was held for 2 days on September 20-22, 2024 in Karang City, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. This meeting aims to improve the quality of medical education, especially in AIPKI Region V. The event was attended by the rector of Nusa Cendana University, and the Education Atase of the Republic of Indonesia in Timor Leste as well as the deans of the Faculty of Medicine and study program managers who are members of AIPKI Region V.
