Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, Warm greetings, and may we all be blessed with good health.
The academic community of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Mataram (FKIK Unram) is deeply grateful to celebrate the faculty's achievements as it enters the year 2024, following a year filled with remarkable accomplishments in 2023. In the field of education, FKIK became the largest contributor to the establishment of new study programs at the University of Mataram. This was marked by the issuance of operational permits for several new programs, including: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Marine Medicine, Neurology, Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine, and Professional Pharmacy Education. In community service, FKIK conducted outreach activities in coastal and island communities in collaboration with national academic partners, including Udayana University, as well as international partners such as the Indonesian Diaspora Global Network Health (IDGNH), Netherlands. In addition, many smaller-scale community service initiatives organized by faculty members and students were carried out to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1, 3, and 4: No Poverty, Good Health and Well-being, and Quality Education. In research, FKIK has undertaken numerous research projects, both independently and in collaboration with partner universities and national companies. The number of scientific publications has also continued to increase, reflecting the growing number of faculty members who have successfully completed their doctoral studies.
What will we prioritize in 2024?
The Rector of the University of Mataram has directed all of us to work together toward: accelerating the achievement of Superior Accreditation and the transition to Legal Entity State University (PTN-BH) status; improving the University's Key Performance Indicators (IKU) and the implementation of the Independent Learning–Independent Campus (MBKM) program; enhancing effective and efficient budget performance; improving the University of Mataram's position in international university rankings; and establishing an Integrity Zone while becoming a state university under the direct supervision of Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Our shared mission always becomes lighter when every member of the academic community understands their roles and responsibilities well. Having now surpassed its 20th anniversary, FKIK has achieved many milestones together. At the same time, many of our ambitious ideas have yet to be realized, providing continued motivation for our academic community to move forward, innovate, and grow. May Allah bestow His mercy upon us all. Excellence be with us. Salam Unggul
